In Week 5 and 6, Year 8 Geography students had the privilege of participating in Geography fieldwork at the Sydney Olympic Park wetlands,\u00a0as part of their study of the “Water In The World” topic. The students engaged in a range of activities, including analysis of secondary information, showing how the wetlands area has changed over time. They also conducted field work such as water testing and bird watching, to draw conclusions about the health of the wetlands area. They also got an in-depth look at how mangroves function as an essential part of the wetlands environment. Students loved the practical aspects of the excursion, and said that it really enhanced their understanding of the real-world applications of Geography.<\/p>\n
