Like Moses and Elijah before Him, Jesus ascends the mountain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6080 alignright\" style=\"font-size: 1rem\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2023\/02\/Screenshot-2023-03-10-at-8.35.38-am.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"463\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jesus is revealed even now as the fulfillment of God\u2019s promises, in His radiant glory as the Beloved. He is \u201clight from light\u201d and \u201ctrue God from true God\u201d as we profess in th<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">e Nicene Creed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Like the first disciples, we too are invited to lift up our hearts to the Lord, in their light and shadow, and cast aside those things which prevent us from seeing the glory and truth of God in Jesus. We are invited to entrust ourselves to his Word and radiant light, a light which reveals God\u2019s face to us and in so doing reveals us to ourselves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are invited to \u2018stand up\u2019 in these moments of encounter, to see Christ and to recognise God\u2019s glory and power in Him anew. We are called to listen attentively to His Word, and eagerly await His Resurrection at Easter in which His glory, and our hope and destiny, will be fully and universally revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adapted from Daniel Ang<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h4><b><i>In our Community\u2026\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/h4>\n<h5>\u00a0<\/h5>\n<h5><b>CAMPUS EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What a wonderful opportunity for parents, students, families from our feeder primary schools<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and our wider community to visit Marist Sisters\u2019 College this week for our Campus Experience. We had many visitors in our Religious Education Classroom. Many aspects of the faith formation at the College were on display, such as the Religious Education 7- 12 Curriculum, Marists in Action, Liturgies, Retreat and Reflection Day, Marist Service and Mission. The RE team and student helpers had a great time meeting the visiting families and being involved in the many fun religious activities such as games and puzzles offered throughout the evening. Thank you to the RE team and students for all your help and support throughout a very successful evening.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"highlight\"><em>Mrs<\/em><em> Caroline Morizzi, Religious Education Coordinator<\/em><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">This article on College life meets The Archbishop&#8217;s Charter for Catholic Schools &#8211; Charter #1, #2<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3>From the Assistant Religious Education Coordinator<\/h3>\n<h5>\u00a0<\/h5>\n<h5><b>PROJECT COMPASSION &#8211; PRISCILLA\u2019S STORY<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During our Principal\u2019s Assembly on Wednesday, our Social Justice Captains, Isabelle Mourani and Katelyn Lopes introduced the Marist Sisters\u2019 Community to Priscillas\u2019s story.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Case Study: Priscilla from Zimbabwe<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our focus for this week is Priscilla from Zimbabwe. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Climate change continues to bring unprecedented challenges for people living in the most vulnerable and remote communities in Zimbabwe. With the support of Caritas Hwange, Priscilla learnt conservation farming skills to grow drought-resistant crops and started poultry farming to support her family during the current food crisis.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Her story can be viewed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caritas.org.au\/project-compassion\/priscilla-story\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> through Caritas Australia\u2019s website &#8211;<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6084 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2023\/02\/Screenshot-2023-03-10-at-8.47.56-am.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"457\" height=\"305\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote\">\n<p><b>\u201cWe had plenty of rains at first but as time has gone by, the rains have become erratic and hence the yields have been reduced,\u201d Priscilla said.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While the situation in Zimbabwe and across eastern Africa remains dire, the work of Caritas Hwange means that Priscilla can learn the techniques, tools and resources she nee<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ds to build resilience and support her family during this current food crisis.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Caritas&#8217; Australia website<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h5><b>PROJECT COMPASSION &#8211; FUNDRAISING UPDATE AND HOUSE INITIATIVES<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6085 alignright\" style=\"font-size: 1.4rem\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2023\/02\/Screenshot-2023-03-10-at-8.58.08-am.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"357\" height=\"267\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Throughout Week 5 and Week 6, our students have been generous in their donations with Chanel and Jaricot donation<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">g over $200 each. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All updates are posted on the MSCW Cloudshare page every Friday.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our Houses have begun fundraising through exciting initiatives. This week, Jaricot held and Easter Egg Basket Raffle competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>\u00a0<\/h5>\n<h5><strong>The following House Initiatives have been planned over the upcoming weeks:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6086 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2023\/02\/Screenshot-2023-03-10-at-8.59.45-am.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"633\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<h5><b><i>In our Curriculum<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote\"><p><b><i>For Catholics the search for meaning is an expression of our inherent desire to know God.\u00a0 It is only when we bring together knowledge and meaning, faith and reason, that we uncover the truth of life<\/i><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Throughout this term, our Year 11 students have been settling into Stage 6 with our Studies of Religion I &amp; II, and Studies in Catholic Thought courses.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our Studies of Religion I students have been exploring the Nature of Religion and Beliefs which explores the aspects of religion including beliefs and believers, sacred texts and writings, ethical teachings and rituals and ceremonies, along with Aboriginal Spirituality. Our 1 unit students will be sitting their first assessment task Term 2, Week 2. Best of luck to these students!
