As Christians we are waiting to celebrate the great joy and life that is the birth of the child Jesus at Christmas. Throughout the year we have faced the challenges of flood and fire, lived with the continued threats to our health and watched the impact of war and violence\u00a0 in our world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During these times, we reached to others. We were present with and for them. We generously helped in whatever ways we could.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The story of the birth of the child Jesus is one of the extraordinary gift of being present.
