The Holy Souls are those who have died in the state of grace but who are not yet free from all punishment. It is our great privilege that we can pray to our merciful God on their behalf. In the College Chapel is a Book of Remembrance (made by a Year 8 student) where prayer intentions can be entered for the month of November.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote\">\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pope Francis\u2019 prayer intention for November is that we pray for all children who suffer, those who are homeless, orphaned or victims of war; may they have access to education and the opportunity to experience family affection.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote\">\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018To see children suffer wounds our hearts because children are Jesus\u2019 favourites. We can never accept that they are mistreated, that they are denied the right to live out their childhood peacefully and joyfully, that they are denied a future of hope\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u2013 Pope Francis<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We give thanks for the love of our families and their acceptance of us as we journey through our lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>In Invitation to Participate in the International Gathering of Marist Youth Lisbon 2023<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2022\/11\/Screen-Shot-2022-11-02-at-9.52.24-am.png\" data-rel=\"lightcase\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4996 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2022\/11\/Screen-Shot-2022-11-02-at-9.52.24-am-e1667343416197.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a>Below is an invitation from Sr Gail Reneker to all attending World Youth Day Lisbon 2023 to also participate in the International Gathering of Marist Youth<\/span><\/i><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cFor some years the Marist branches of the Society of Mary, through representatives of their General Administrations, have organised an International Gathering of Marist Youth (IGMY) &#8211; a gathering of young people connected to our Marist family which is arranged to take palace in the days preceding World Youth Day.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 2023 this event, the International Gathering of Marist Youth, also in Lisbon, will take place from 26 July to 30 July 2023 with the theme \u201cInto the Deep\u201d. It will be held at the Colegio Marista de Carcavelos, a college run by the Marist Brothers, and will be for young people 18 to 30 years of age who have maturity and commitment to enter fully into the experience of these days.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These gatherings of Marist Youth have general been found to provide opportunities for networking with other young Marists\u00a0 from different parts of the world; for celebration of life and particularly of their own personal life and the gift it is to God, to people, to the Church and the world, for prayer and reflection; and to share faith and culture and so strengthen the common spiritual heritage we have as Marists.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Those interested are invited to contact Sister Reneker, Marist Sisters Australia on 9816 1440.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h4><b>Prayer for Year 12 Students<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You are also invited to pray for Year 12 students as they sit the last of the HSC examinations:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">God, we ask that our Year 12 Sisters feel your presence with them as they prepare for and complete their HSC examinations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Give them calm hearts and quiet confidence in the knowledge that you hold them in the palm of your hand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bless them with a keen understanding of what they have learnt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Give them the ability to be exact in their explanations and an ability to express themselves clearly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Holy Spirit, send them your gifts of wisdom and knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We ask this through Christ our Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h4><b>WYD23 Lisbon, Cambodia Immersion &amp; Cape York Indigenous Immersion<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Over the past week, there have been opportunities for interested students to investigate participation in attending World Youth Day Lisbon August 2023, the Cambodia Immersion July 2023 and the Cape York Indigenous Immersion September\/October 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please refer to Compass for links to further information and applications or contact me at the College.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em>Mis<\/em><em>s Mary Kleist, Religious Education Coordinator<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">This article on College life meets The Archbishop&#8217;s Charter for Catholic Schools &#8211; Charter #1, #2<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The month of November is the month dedicated to the Holy Souls.
