Celebrating the Marist Story<\/b><\/h4>\n

As we have begun Term 3, we have also acknowledged significant events in our Marist story. Pauline Jaricot was born on the 22 July and Week 2 has been the celebration of Jaricot week. Pauline was beatified on the 22 May 2022. She was the founder of the Society of the Propagation of the Faith, in Australia today known as Catholic Mission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On July 23, 1816, twelve young Frenchmen including Jean-Claude Courville, Jean-Claude Colin and Marcellin Champagnat\u00a0 – on the day after their ordination – made a pledge to entrust to Mary their plans to found an order whose mission would be the continuation of her work in the Church. The shrine in a chapel dedicated to Our Lady Fourviere saw the beginnings of the Marist movement of men and women: laity, religious and priests, today known as Marists. We give thanks to all those who are and have been part of the Marist story.<\/span><\/p>\n

Feast of the Assumption of Mary – Monday 15 August 2022<\/b><\/h4>\n

The Feast of the Assumption is one of the most important feast days of the year and is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mass will not be celebrated at the College. All students are encouraged to attend Mass in their own parishes.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Roman Catholic theology, Mary was “assumed body and soul into heavenly glory” several years after her son, Jesus, ascended into heaven.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ignite Conference<\/b><\/h4>\n

Students are invited to the Ignite Conference from <\/span>Thursday 29 September to Sunday 2 October 2022 <\/span>(Term 3 school holidays).<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Give them calm hearts and quiet confidence in the knowledge that you hold them in the palm of your hand.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Bless them with keen understanding and retentive memory.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Give them the ability to grasp things correctly, be exact in their explanations and an ability to express themselves clearly.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Holy Spirit send them your gifts of wisdom and knowledge.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
