The purpose of this overnight stay in Bon Repos was to provide a glimpse into the realities of homelessness by \u2018sleeping rough\u2019 and to raise awareness and funds for the Vinnies Winter Appeal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There were guest speakers, Jennifer Aduckiewicz and Cathy Langman, who worked as volunteers for Vinnies. They spoke about the services offered to residents living in public housing in Hunters Hill and how there are over 116,000 people experiencing homelessness in Australia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students participated in a range of activities facilitated by the Marists in Action (MIA) group. This included the Privilege Walk activity, which enabled them to reflect on their privilege in contrast to those experiencing hardships. Dinner was a cup of soup and a bread roll.
