Six MSCW students – Mia Rodgers, Mackenzee Southcombe, Tatum Kelly, Giselle Kusto, Sienna Wheelhouse and Brianna Kelly – combined with six Holy Cross students to participate in the NSW All School Mixed Touch Challenge on Thursday, 2 June.
\n\u00a0
\nThe carnival took place in Waterworth Park Earlwood and consisted of five rounds, which the team successfully completed after winning all five games.<\/p>\n

The mixed team had a great run in their quarter-final against Narara Valley, progressing through to the semi-finals with a comfortable win of 8-3.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nIn the semi-finals, the mixed team came up against Mater Maria with another successful game, winning 4-1. This meant that the Marist Sisters’ and Holy Cross mixed team had secured their position in the grand-final.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nHeld in the grandstand of Waterworth Park, the Marist Sisters\u2019 and Holy Cross team had a big game ahead of them to defend their 2021 Champion title against the Balgowlah and Mackellar mixed team. The grand final was a very intense and tight game with the score being even or a one try difference. Unfortunately, towards the end of the game, the Balgowlah and Mackellar mixed team managed to score one last try that put them in a winning position. As the final buzzer went, the final score was 4-3, resulting in the MSCW and Holy Cross team placing second overall in the competition.\u00a0

\nOverall, a huge congratulations to all the players and their efforts! Also, a massive thank you to the NSW All School committee for their thorough organisation with referees, which further provided the opportunity for all these students.\u00a0<\/p>\n
