This day was an amazing opportunity for us to explore and extend our mathematical talents, critical thinking expertise and teamwork skills. All students were to compete as individuals and in teams. We all had a lot of fun throughout the day. We had the chance to meet many new individuals from five other high schools, learning about each of their own unique gifts and abilities. This event was held at Cerdon College in Merrylands. We were pushed past our own mathematical skills and were challenged to think outside the box. There were a variety of activities presented throughout the day, continuously stimulating our growing minds. It was a time to acknowledge, recognise and appreciate what we could all bring to the table collectively as we move into our Senior years. The day was an amazing experience for all of us as Year 9 students, topped off with our group win for one of the last activities.”

Sarah Khoury, Eva Tiani and Gabrielle Kuk, Year 9 Students

Gifted pathways for Year 10 gifted students

Students in 10.1 Newman and 10.2 Newman have received information for interesting and rigorous courses available for gifted students.

The Macquarie University Critical Thinking Course is a 1 Unit Non-ATAR course that challenges students to understand critical thinking and reasoning.
