Rather than gathering on campus for reflection and formation, our staff were sent out in the spirit of mission to various local charities and organisations. From St Vincent de Paul, Gift of Bread, House of Welcome, The Rev Bill Crews Foundation, OzHarvest, The Salvation Army – Sydney Streetlevel Mission, to Escabags and The Birthing Kit Foundation Australia, staff offered their time and hearts in the service of others.<\/span><\/p>\n It was a day deeply rooted in our Catholic values \u2014 of love, compassion, and solidarity with the poor and vulnerable. \u201cBeing able to serve others in this way reminded me why I chose to work in a Catholic school,\u201d one staff member shared. \u201cIt was a chance to step into the community as the hands and feet of Christ.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Each outreach placement became its own sacred space \u2014 full of encounters, stories, and moments of grace. Staff returned with full hearts, inspired by those they met and the work being done across our community to uphold human dignity and care for those in need.<\/span><\/p>\n May the fruits of our Staff Spirituality Outreach Day continue to inspire us all \u2014 staff, students, and families alike \u2014 to walk humbly, love generously, and serve joyfully.<\/span><\/p>\n Year 11 and 12 students recently had the exciting opportunity to participate in Joined by students from nine other Marist schools in the region, the night was <\/span>filled with uplifting energy, meaningful workshops, and lots of laughter. Guided by the Marist Youth Ministry team, students explored themes of service and sustainability through interactive sessi<\/span>ons that inspired actio<\/span>n, collaboration and reflection.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Students participated in two of four inspiring workshops, each designed to help them reflect on <\/span>what it truly means to look beyond, and embrace their calling as Pilgrims of Hope <\/span>in 2025\u00a0<\/span>and beyond.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n From engaging games to new friendships, the event was a\u00a0<\/span>fantastic chance for students to connect, collaborate, and grow in the Marist spirit. We had a wonderful 13 of our inspiring students representing the College.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As part of this year\u2019s Environment Week campaign, our Social Justice and WSU Co-Captains have been leading the charge against plastic pollution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tutor groups have been growing beans in reused plastic bottles and cups, provin<\/span>g that even the smallest acts of reusing can spark meaningful change. Alongside that, students have also been getting creative with upcycled art, turning trash into thoughtful treasure. We\u2019re eager to <\/span>see which tutor group grows the tallest and healthiest bean….one reused bottle at a time!<\/span><\/p>\n Take a look at our student-made environment awareness \u2018must watch\u2019 movies and documentary list.<\/span><\/p>\n Ms Laura Marshall – <\/i>Youth Ministry Coordinator<\/i><\/p>\n On Wednesday 11th June, two students from Marist Sisters\u2019 College participated in a Collaborative Network initiative with St Therese Catholic Primary School in Denistone. The retreat day was held at Mary Mackillop Place and was designed specifically for students to enhance their faith and deepen their relationship with God. In collaboration with Marist College, Eastwood, our students helped to facilitate the day for Stage Two students.<\/span><\/p>\n Thank you to our Year 9 students Ada Pessagno and Hannah Nader for their participation in the day.<\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Justin Salar, Religious Education Coordinator at St. Therese, Denistone commended Ada and Hannah for their service; <\/span>\u201cTheir invaluable contributions and efforts truly made it a faith-filled and evangelising experience for all the students. It was wonderful to see both Ada and Hannah so en<\/span><\/i>gaged with our Stage 2 students.
