On June 26th, our College gathered to celebrate NAIDOC Week ahead of it taking place in the\"\" holidays from July 7th to 14th. We heard from staff and students about the history and significance of this celebration, as well as a moving speech from a special guest, Ms Hannah Owen — a member of our parent community at MSCW. Hannah shared her story with much heart and humour, and gave advice for connecting with those who outwardly or initially may seem very different to ourselves.\u00a0<\/div>\n

We finished the assembly with the handing over of our individual staff action plans as a commitment to reconciliation. Well done in particular to Indie in Year 12 for her touching and personalised Acknowledgement of Country, honouring the Wallumedegal people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet each day at school.\u00a0<\/div>\n
