MSCW Cross Country Carnival

The MSCW Cross Country will be held in Week 3 on Monday 3 May.

Any student who wishes to participate in the Cross Country will be required to competitively run the race. Each House may enter up to their top twenty students for each group (13-17+ years). Up to 10 students per House may be entered for the 12 Years race.

The top twenty students will be chosen by House leaders and will require selected students to register via the Google form which will be sent to students in Week 1.

The top 10 runners per age group will be selected in the MSCW Cross Country team to participate in the CGSSSA Cross Country Championship.

NSW CCC Swimming Championships

Congratulations to our talented swimmers who were selected to represent CGSSSA at the NSW CCC Championships on Monday.

Evie Lange (Yr 7), Amy Linssen (Yr 8), Angela Lakic (Yr 8), Ziani Viola (Yr 9), Natasha Payne (Yr 9), Ava Gibson (Yr 10) and Abby Gibson (Y 12).

Our MSCW students were competing against the top swimmers from Catholic high schools from all over NSW. At the end of the meet, MSCW was placed 14th overall out of 97 girls schools! A super effort from our 7 representatives!

MSCW was chosen by CGSSSA to participate in the 6x 50m freestyle relay. Strong performances resulted in 4th place.

PB’s were achieved by Evie, Ava and Amy – great work in your butterfly events!

Abby placed 2nd overall in the 200m freestyle and has now been selected to represent CCC at the NSW All School Swimming Championships.

Mixed Touch Football State Championship

The Mixed Challenge State Championship has been rescheduled for Friday 23rd April (Term 2 Week 1)
Venue: Doyle Ground, North Parramatta

NSW CCC Touch Football Tournament 

On Wednesday 31 March, five MSCW students competed for CGSSSA in the NSWCCC Touch Football Tournament in Nelson Bay. The Junior team (Under 15s) consisted of Amelie Fehir, Ellie Barnett, Georgia Southcombe and Sienna Wheelhouse (Year 9), while Mia Rodgers (Year 11) played in the Senior team (Under 18s). Both the Junior and Senior CGSSSA teams were successful in making the Grand Final, but both unfortunately lost. The Junior team lost to Broken Bay 5-4 and the Senior team also lost to Broken Bay 3-1. Great job to all the girls for their participation and effort throughout the day.

Special congratulations to Amelie Fehir, Sienna Wheelhouse and Mia Rodgers who were successful in making their respective NSWCCC teams. 

NSW Touch Football Team 

Congratulations to Mia Rodgers who has been chosen to represent NSW in the State of Origin U20’s touch football team. Mia will play a three game competition against Queensland U20s women’s team in Coffs Harbour on the 18 and 19 June. 

MSCW Term 1 Sport Teams

MCCS Sport Results

Congratulations to the 4 teams that have represented the College in the Thursday  MCCS competition in Term 1.

Although there were many weeks cancelled due to wet weather, all teams performed well each week and students were excellent representatives for MSCW.

Open Water Polo Report

The Water polo season started off rough, MSCW conceding 2 losses in the first rounds against older and more experienced teams. It went up from here winning more games and working together as a united team. We made it into the semifinals finishing third overall. We played Domremy and despite losing, we held their heads up high and relished the season. 

The defence (Elsie, Amelia, Zara) stopped many goals and fully supported the rest of the team. Midfielders, (Victoria, Caragh, Sheridan, Tamara) moved the ball around effectively leading to numerous goals. This resulted in the attackers, (Sofia and Sienna) smashing the ball into the back of the net. Isabel, although new to the sport quickly picked up some excellent goal keeping skills. The year 8’s (Amy, Angela) also learnt new skills and are looking forward to the Junior competition in Term 4. New friends were made and thanks to the super coach, Ms Kemp, the girls thoroughly enjoyed their season.

Touch Football Results

Congratulations to our open team who finished first in the MCCS Competition. 

They will play McAuley in the semi final this Thursday. 

Hard luck to our Junior team who finished 5th in their competition. The girls were unlucky to have only played three games. They played with admirable team spirit and enthusiasm. Well done to our Junior Touch Team! 

Volleyball Results

Congratulations to both our junior and senior teams on making the Volleyball semi-finals. The Junior and Senior teams will both play Trinity in the semi-finals.
