MSCW Entry in the Bishop Richard Umbers Lenten Art Competition

Recently Year 10 Visual Art Students sent this letter to Bishop Richard Umber

Dear Bishop Richard Umber

On behalf of the following Year 10 Visual Arts students (list below) from Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich we would like to present to you what Palm Sunday means to our Marist Community. This was a collaborative artwork in which all students embraced with enthusiasm and dedication. Students were happy to get involved to enable each individual voice of self expression and to portray their meaning of Palm Sunday and how important it is to them. The artwork is titled: ‘Passion Sunday Passion for life’.

Artist’s Statement

Every stroke of the brush was placed with careful reflection and consideration. This collaborative installation artwork is commemorating Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Symbolism displayed reflects  our community, in prayer, and almsgiving. Always and forever.
