Year 10 students are now in the final stages of signing off their subject selections for Year 11 in 2027. This marks an exciting step as students begin to look ahead to their senior years and the programs of study they will undertake.<\/p>\n
Following an extensive process of reviewing student preferences and constructing the timetable, we are pleased that\u00a0the vast majority of students have been accommodated in their preferred subject choices. This has involved careful consideration of individual preferences alongside the overall pattern of selections across the cohort, staffing, class viability and the complexities of constructing a timetable across both the HSC and IB Diploma Programme.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In a small number of cases, particular combinations of subjects created timetable clashes or other constraints, meaning students have needed to reconsider an initial preference. Where this has occurred, their second round preference was utilised.\u00a0We acknowledge that such cases can be disappointing, however the curriculum team is here to work alongside students to help them create a\u00a0balanced and appropriate program of study. If any student needs further support with their preferences, they are encouraged to reach out immediately.<\/p>\n
Students are now completing the final sign-off process, and we appreciate the thoughtful way in which they have engaged with these decisions. We also thank families for their patience and support as we have worked through this complex process.<\/p>\n
From here, the students will be required to undertake their chosen pattern of study throughout the early weeks of Year 11, ensuring they have a good feel for their subjects before making any amendments. The upcoming Year 10 Immersion program will provide further support for students’ transition into the Senior Years.<\/p>\n
