This week, students began preparing for and then undertook a specialised Wellbeing session with Elephant Ed. Elephant Ed introduces students to sexual consent and respecting personal boundaries, exploring the legal framework of consent, verbal and non-verbal communication, respectful relationships, portrayals of consent in the media, and how to seek support from trusted adults. It also encourages students to discuss these topics safely, respectfully and maturely. \u00a0<\/p>\n
It is with much excitement that on Friday, we announced the Middle Years Leaders in Assembly. Congratulations to all our new leaders, I look forward to seeing you grow in your leadership skills across the next year. To those that put themselves forward, but didn\u2019t get there this time, we are very proud of your effort and encourage you to continue putting yourself forward for all the opportunities that present themselves. I\u2019d also like to celebrate our Year 8 Student Representatives: Gemma Verden, Sylvia Li and Lavinia Xu.<\/strong> Congratulations on your election, we know you are going to represent Year 8 with pride.\u00a0<\/p>\n Coming up in Week 5 (commencing Monday 9 November 2026)<\/strong> Year 8 have the Middle Years production of Alice in Wonderland<\/em> which is going to be amazing. Year 8 also has been invited to St Pat\u2019s Dance next Thursday and on Wednesday 11 November 2026<\/strong> we will celebrate Remembrance Day, the first opportunity for our Cadets to be involved in the service. There are also nine students who will be heading into the second week of their domestic exchanges in Adelaide, Launceston and Canberra and we wish them all the best as they continue to challenge themselves and grow in a new setting.<\/p>\n With formal assessments complete, the Year 8 Luminary team and Year 8 teachers will be encouraging the students to continue to push themselves academically in preparation for Year 9. Students have been reminded that classroom expectations and standards remain high through to the end of the year. Over the coming weeks your child’s Luminary will speak to them with a similar message. We are excited for the girls to move to Year 9 and want to make sure they are fully prepared and ready.
