Some of the key questions ask them to reflect on what they are most proud of, what they have learnt about themselves, an area they would like to improve, how they can act on teacher feedback, which study methods work best for them, and what they will prioritise over the summer break. They have also been asked to identify one clear next step for each of their courses.

Your daughter will need to bring her completed reflection sheet to the Progress Conversation in Week 5. Before your meeting, I encourage you to sit down together and go through her reflection. This is a great opportunity to understand what she is proud of, what she has identified as her challenges and, importantly, the goals she is setting herself as she moves into Year 12 in preparation for the discussion with her Luminary.

We look forward to meeting with you Monday 9 November and Tuesday 10 November 2026 for a holistic discussion about your daughter’s progress and engagement, as well as planning for the summer break and Year 12.

This week, Marianna Carlino, our Director of eLearning, also presented to the girls about AI and its use at school. In an ever-evolving space, it is so important that the girls understand how to use AI ethically and appropriately in their studies. A key message for the girls is that all work presented must be appropriately acknowledged, including the use of AI tools, and that academic honesty remains an important responsibility as they move into their HSC and IB courses. If you daughter has any questions regarding her use of AI, please encourage her to seek guidance from her teachers or from Ms Carlino.

Lastly, it has been lovely receiving the letters for our upcoming Year 11 Retreat. This is always such a beautiful and meaningful activity, and I know the letters will be very special for the girls to receive and read while away. Please continue to bring your letters in, in a sealed envelope with your daughter’s name and Luminary group clearly written on the front, and place them in the collection box with Wendy Allen at Reception.

– Penny Hewett
Head of Year 11

This week during Luminary time, Year 11 reflected on their progress over the past year in preparation for the upcoming Student Progress Conversations on Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 November 2026.
