Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) \u2013 Shape Nominations <\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

TAS Major Projects generally consist of either an individual product (this could range from textiles art to a garment, or furniture, or a 3D printed prototype), or a system, or environment (architecture), paired with an accompanying folio documenting design and production processes. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The TAS department have received multiple Shape Nominations across all Stage 6 project-based subjects including HSC Design and Technology, HSC Industrial Technology: Multimedia, and HSC Textiles which is a fantastic achievement for our students that we are extremely proud of.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our TAS students are highly creative, take risks in their designs, get out of their comfort zone learning a range of new practical and software skills, as well as develop a range of design thinking and problem-solving skills.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our students are well supported by our team of highly creative and very experienced subject teachers, which includes Richard<\/strong>\u00a0Burgess<\/strong> and Andrew Drewitt Smith<\/strong> (Design and Technology), Bryce Lindstrom<\/strong> (Multimedia) and Robyn Langford<\/strong> (Textiles). <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Han produced a multi-functional sensory child\u2019s table that aims to support early childhood development and play; while addressing the challenges faced by modern families who are confronted by current economic and financial constraints or live in smaller homes. The timber table incorporates features which improve functionality and user experience, including an adjustable leg- height system which caters for growth of the child whilst also increasing the life span of the product. It also features a storage system, removable components and is multipurpose.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
