We are delighted to launch the new MLC School Diving Club<\/a>, a\u00a0public program which\u00a0will be open to both MLC School students and members of the wider community.\u00a0This is\u00a0an exciting opportunity for students to\u00a0further\u00a0develop their skills, build confidence and experience the thrill of diving in a supportive and high-quality program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The program will be led by MLC School Head Diving Coach,\u00a0Shixin (Golden) Li.<\/strong> We are incredibly fortunate to have a coach of\u00a0Shixin\u2019s\u00a0calibre leading our program; a\u00a0two-time FINA World Champion, Australian\u00a0Olympian\u00a0and Commonwealth Games medallist,\u00a0Shixin\u00a0brings exceptional\u00a0expertise, international\u00a0experience\u00a0and a genuine passion for developing divers at every stage. From Monday 1 June 2026,<\/strong> students are invited to trial any diving session for the\u00a0remainder\u00a0of the term, giving them the chance to experience the program and find the session that best suits their current level.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Term 3,\u00a0this program\u00a0will\u00a0become fully operational, with\u00a0students able to register for the diving session level at which they are assessed, ensuring each diver is placed in the most\u00a0appropriate group\u00a0for their skill development. We look forward to welcoming both new and experienced divers to the MLC School Diving Club and to seeing this exciting new community grow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What do the changes mean?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

These changes mean there will be more opportunities for students to train each week, with an increase in available sessions across beginner, intermediate, advanced levels. All co-curricular sessions will now become beginner diving sessions only; for any further and competitive training divers will be required to attend the club sessions. This expanded timetable will provide greater flexibility for families and allow divers to train in the session most appropriate to their assessed level. Please see attached the timetable available from Term 3 onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

What happens to my current booking?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Current bookings will remain for\u00a0rest of\u00a0Term\u00a02,\u00a0slight timings may be adjusted. Those affected will be contacted\u00a0directly. All term 3 bookings will be reviewed and communication will be made if your booking will be affected.\u00a0<\/p>\n

How to book\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

For all session availabilities and enquiries, please reach out to Shixin Li via diving@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au<\/a> for a quick response. We would love all students to join the club and experience diving in a fun and competitive environment. If you don\u2019t want to compete, that is completely fine, there is always the option to just come and have a go. MLC School students will always be given priority for term-based bookings, as our aim is ensuring students have the best support available.<\/p>\n
