Below we have\u00a0addressed some\u00a0important housekeeping\u00a0matters\u00a0relating to Music in 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n
MUSIC INFORMATION<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n All information\u00a0regarding\u00a0Private Music Tuition and Music Co-curricular Ensembles can be found on the\u00a0Co-curricular Microsite<\/strong><\/a>. Further information\u00a0regarding\u00a0the Junior School Curricular Instrumental Program can be found in the\u00a0MLC School Parent Handbook<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n JUNIOR SCHOOL\u00a0PRIVATE MUSIC TUITION\u00a0(Pre-Kindergarten\u00a0to Year 5)<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n Private Music Tuition in the Junior School is at capacity<\/strong>.\u00a0Please do not place a new enrolment for any 2026\u00a0Pre-K\u00a0through to Year 5 students.<\/u>\u00a0If you would like to go on our waitlist, please complete your details and expression of interest on our\u00a0Junior School Private Music Tuition Waitlist<\/strong><\/a>;\u00a0 We suggest\u00a0you\u00a0find an external tutor\u00a0if you\u00a0are seeking an immediate start to tuition, or are looking for a tutor who can fix a time outside of school hours.<\/p>\n Tuition is offered on a rotation basis during the school day to avoid missing\u00a0the same subject repeatedly. Students do not have lessons before recess to avoid clashes with numeracy and literacy lessons. We\u00a0can only offer a fixed lesson time in exceptional circumstances. Junior School students are expected to start with 30 minute lessons.<\/p>\n SENIOR SCHOOL PRIVATE MUSIC TUITION (Year 6 to\u00a0Year\u00a012)\u00a0\u2013 New enrolments<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n For Year 6 to Year 12 students wishing to\u00a0enrol\u00a0in Private Music Tuition, please\u00a0enrol\u00a0via the\u00a0Private Music Tuition \u2013 Payments Page<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n NEW ENROLMENTS<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n Once your daughter is enrolled in private music tuition, students are assumed to continue their private music tuition until the end of Term 3, Year 12.\u00a0You do not need to re-enrol\u00a0each term.\u00a0The term fee will be added to your term fee statement.\u00a0The\u00a0tuition rates effective January 2026 are:\u00a0<\/p>\n Music Tutors will reconcile all lesson attendance for the year at the end of Term 4. Any lessons short of the\u00a08 per term (32 per year) will be credited to your fee statement. Any lessons provided\u00a0in excess of\u00a0the 32 lessons per year (excluding extra lessons already paid for) will\u00a0be added to your fee statement. Any queries relating to music charges should be emailed to music@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n Our tuition is offered on a rotation basis during the school day. Lessons occur at different times each week, to minimise impact on other classes. Year 11 and Year 12 students may organise a fixed lesson time during their study periods. This is negotiated directly with the tutor.\u00a0<\/p>\n PRIVATE MUSIC TUTION WITHDRAWALS<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n Should you wish to withdraw your daughter from private music tuition lessons\u00a0you will need to\u00a0provide written notification via the\u00a0Private Music Tuition Withdraw Form<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0by\u00a010am, Friday\u00a0Week 7\u00a0<\/strong>of the term preceding the term you would like effective withdraw from. <\/strong>Any withdrawals received after this time will take effect from the second subsequent term and the following term fees will be charged accordingly.\u00a0Lessons provided will be reconciled at the time of withdrawal; any lessons provided\u00a0in excess or not provided will be reconciled against the\u00a0subsequent\u00a0fee statement. \u00a0Any queries relating to music charges should be emailed to\u00a0music@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n TAIKO ENROLMENTS<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n There are limited places for enrolment\u00a0in\u00a0Taiko. Enrolment is done via the \u00a0Taiko\u00a02026\u00a0Enrolments Payments page<\/strong><\/a>. When signing up, you are committing to the full year of tuition, and subsequent term fees will be charged to your fee statement each term.
