We had a total of seven (Yes seven!!) of our MLC School Athletes compete, and they produced some astonishing results in\u00a0 in one of the most competitive fields a meet can bring. The results were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Eve Ireland<\/strong> (Year 12) \u2013 15<sup>th<\/sup> in 100m Hurdles, 6<sup>th<\/sup> in Shotput, 6<sup>th<\/sup> in Heptathlon<\/li>\n<li><strong>Elysse Diep<\/strong> (Year 12) \u2013 16<sup>th<\/sup> in 100m<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ruth Costello<\/strong> (Year 10) \u2013 11<sup>th<\/sup> in 3000m (SB)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Olivia Kalamvoki <\/strong>(Year 9) \u2013 12<sup>th<\/sup> in 3000m and 21<sup>st<\/sup> in 1500m<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jemima Pun<\/strong> (Year 7) \u2013 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in 800m<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chloe Pun<\/strong> (Year 7) \u2013 7<sup>th<\/sup> in 100m (PB), 10<sup>th<\/sup> in 200m (PB), 10<sup>th<\/sup> in Long Jump<\/li>\n<li><strong>Edie White<\/strong> (Year7) \u2013 17<sup>th<\/sup> in 80m Hurdles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are all absolutely fantastic achievements all round, we are proud to have you all waving the MLC School Athletics flag. All three MLC school students progressed through to the final Possibles vs Probable&#8217;s match of 22 players \u2013 an outstanding achievement at such a highly competitive level.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to <strong>Felicity McCormick (Year 8)<\/strong>, who was selected in the final IGSA team. This is a wonderful achievement and a testament to her hard work and talent. All competitors achieved top 10 finishes in their respective events.<\/p>\n<p>The MLC\/IGSA Dive team consisted of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Ada Savage<\/strong> (Year 10) MLC School Dive Captain<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clementine Lonergan<\/strong> (Year 9)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eloise Dastyari<\/strong> (Year 7)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Daisy Han<\/strong> (Year 7)<\/li>\n<li><strong> Imogen Halkon<\/strong> (Year 7)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All students performed exceptionally well. It was wonderful to see such strong performances in a highly competitive environment. Big shoutout to <strong>Enid Boyd<\/strong> (Year 11) for U19 and <strong>Balbay Boyd<\/strong> (Year 7) for Y16 who both competed at the CIS Basketball championships. They both went well, and did MLC School Proud, a huge congratulations to both of you.<\/p>\n<p>An extra congratulations is in order for Balbay (Year 7), who went one step further and made the U16 CIS Basketball Squad, and will compete at NSW All Schools! In a strong and highly competitive field, Elena achieved outstanding success, taking out the gold medal.<\/p>\n<p>The fencing season continues to build momentum as we approach upcoming competitions. Our MLC School team will compete this month in the U19 \u00c9p\u00e9e League, featuring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Orianna Ellis<\/strong> (Year 11)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Yerina Kang<\/strong> (Year 11)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Madeleine Girgis<\/strong> (Year 10)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Claudia Pruscino<\/strong> (Year 8)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We wish all of our fencers the very best of luck as they represent MLC School in the upcoming events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Netball<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last week, four students represented MLC School at the IGSA Rep Netball Trials held at Brigidine College, St Ives, where they competed against over 50 girls in each age division.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Burke<\/strong> (Year 9) and <strong>Samaara Menon<\/strong> (Year 9) both trialled in the U15s Category and showcased their skills tremendously. <strong>Anisha Sivagurunathan<\/strong> (Year 12), School Captain, and <strong>Cate Campbell<\/strong> (Year 11), Netball Captain, trialled in the U19s Category, where they fought hard to gain their position into the possible\u2019s and probable&#8217;s round.
