Term 2 is set to be a busy and exciting one for Music at MLC School. With a range of major performances, festivals and learning opportunities on the calendar, there is much for our students and wider music community to look forward to!\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

ANZAC Day Dawn Service \u2013 Burwood RSL
\n<\/b>Saturday 25 April 2026,<\/strong>\u00a06am<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Music Department has been invited by the Burwood RSL to provide music for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Burwood Park. The service will be held at the War Memorial Arch,\u00a0commencing\u00a0at 6am <\/b>on Saturday, 25 April 2026<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Students from the Symphonic Wind Band and Chamber Choir\u00a0are expected to attend, and any absence must be approved by the Director of Music prior to the event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Chamber Choir students should note that a combined rehearsal with Symphonic Wind Band will take place at 3.30pm on\u00a0Thursday 23 April 2026<\/b>\u00a0in the Music Auditorium.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

MLC School 140 Year Celebration Assembly<\/strong><\/div>\n
Friday 1 May 2026<\/strong><\/div>\n
On Friday 1 May 2026<\/strong>, the School will hold a whole-School Assembly for students in Year 3 to Year 12 on the Sports Field to celebration 140 Years of MLC School.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Students from Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Band\u00a0and Senior Choir are expected to perform the National Anthem and School Song at this assembly. Combined rehearsals may be scheduled during Week 1 and Week 2 of Term 2. Further details will be shared in the coming weeks.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Town Hall Concert \u2013\u00a0She Makes a Difference
\n<\/i>Wednesday 24 June 2026<\/b><\/p>\n

Our annual concert at Sydney Town Hall is well underway and is shaping up to be a very special event. Titled\u00a0She Makes a Difference<\/i>, the concert will celebrate 140 years of MLC School through music.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There will be opportunities for Old Girls\u00a0to\u00a0participate\u00a0in the concert, either as part of the choral items or as instrumentalists. Those interested are invited to complete the\u00a0Expression of Interest\u00a0Form here.\u00a0<\/a><\/b>We are currently finalising repertoire and parts, which will be distributed shortly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Two Sunday rehearsals\u00a0have been scheduled for current students and Old Girls\u00a0participating\u00a0in the concert, on\u00a0Sunday 14 June<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Sunday 21 June 2026<\/b>. Further rehearsal details will be shared closer to the dates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Please note that this\u00a0compulsory\u00a0for all Senior School Ensembles and\u00a0Angeli\u00a0Choir only.<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Big Band Blast<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Big Band Blast will take place from\u00a0Friday<\/strong>\u00a015 May to Sunday 17 May 2026<\/b>\u00a0in Bathurst and involves students from the Stage Band\u00a0and Jazz Ensemble. Families are asked to please note these dates in their calendars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Further information, including travel arrangements, packing lists and itineraries, will be shared early next term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
