For many students, Taiko is a new experience. Taiko is a traditional form of Japanese ensemble drumming known for its powerful rhythms, strong sense of timing, and emphasis on group performance. Students are learning not only how to play, but how to listen and keep in time with others. More excitingly, it has also been a great way to bring students together. Playing side by side encourages teamwork, and it has been lovely to see friendships forming within classes and across year levels.
