We placed an incredible 3rd place overall at the IGSA Diving Carnival. The girls have worked incredibly hard with our head diving coach <strong>Shixin Li &#8211; <\/strong>his diligence and dedication in coaching the girls has been instrumental in all our divers improving in their performances across all events. The results over the weekend continued to be fantastic!<\/p>\n<p><strong>NSW Diving Championships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eloise Dastyari<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3rd place 12\/13 platform, with a PB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ada Savage<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3rd place 14\/15 3m springboard (only 8 points behind 1st place)<\/li>\n<li>2nd place 14\/15 1m springboard, with a PB ( only 0.1 of a point behind 1st place)<\/li>\n<li>2nd in the 14\/15 platform event<\/li>\n<li>3rd place Ada and her Synchro partner (Lucas Dawes) 14 years and over synchronised springboard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>Congratulations to <strong>Emma Yan<\/strong> (Year 4) on achieving a podium finish, placing third at the State Skills Nationals. This marks the first time the competition has been open to divers outside of the NSW Institute of Sport (or state equivalents), making this achievement particularly significant. And congratulations to <strong>Elizabeth Feng<\/strong> (Year 4) and <strong>Grace Luo<\/strong> (Year 4) on also qualifying for the State Skills Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>These outstanding results would not have been possible without the expert guidance and coaching of Shixin. We are incredibly proud of all of you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;letter-spacing: 0px\">Head of the River<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday 14 March, MLC School Rowing Team competed at the prestigious Schoolgirl Head of the River, held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. The regatta saw twelve MLC School crews, spanning Year 6 to Year 12, take to the water, with every student demonstrating outstanding skill, determination, and sportsmanship.<\/p>\n<p>A highlight of the day was <strong>Alannah Ng\u2019s<\/strong> (Year 8) exceptional achievement, securing a gold medal in the Year 8 Single Scull, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects both talent and dedication.<\/p>\n<p>The coaching staff are proud of all students for their commitment and perseverance throughout the season. Their hard work has been evident in both training and competition, culminating in strong performances across all crews.<\/p>\n<p>We now look ahead to the final event of the season, as nine of our senior rowers travel to Tasmania to compete at the Australian Rowing Championships. Competing against 27 schools, our swimmers demonstrated outstanding commitment, resilience, and team spirit throughout the meet.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to share that the team qualified\u00a016 individual swims\u00a0and\u00a06 relay teams\u00a0for finals\u2014an excellent achievement that reflects the strength of our program. Just as impressive was the positive energy poolside, with athletes supporting one another and racing with pride for their team. Her performance secured a qualifying time to\u00a0represent\u00a0NSW at the National Championships in Brisbane this April.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Kalamvokis<\/strong>\u00a0(Year 9) competed in two demanding state events over the weekend\u2014the 1500m and 3000m. She placed 2nd in the 3000m and 6th in the 1500m, qualifying for both events at the upcoming Australian Athletics Championships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Also in Year 7, <strong>Chloe Pun<\/strong> and <strong>Jemima Pun<\/strong> have both qualified for two events each at the Australian Athletics Championships in Brisbane. Together, they will represent NSW across the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m events. Jemima delivered an outstanding performance in the 800m final, running a new personal best of 2:14.24 to secure a silver medal. This achievement has also earned her selection in the NSW team for the Australian Little Athletics Championships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eve Ireland<\/strong> (Year 12) competed at the ACT Combined Athletics Championships, where she claimed gold while recording several personal bests. Eve has qualified for the heptathlon, 100m hurdles, and shot put, and will also compete at the Australian Athletics Championships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all these athletes on their remarkable achievements.
