The event, held from Manly Beach\u00a0to Shelly Beach, attracts competitors from across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Olivia placed\u00a0<strong>8th overall out of 1,593 athletes<\/strong>\u00a0and was the\u00a0<strong>first female out of the water<\/strong> in the 1km event \u2013 an outstanding achievement and a testament to her dedication and training. We are incredibly proud of her performance<\/p>\n<p>Last Friday\u2019s MLC School invitational swim meet was an absolute splash hit! With five visiting schools joining us poolside, the place was buzzing from the very first race to the final relay. The energy was electric \u2013 cheers echoing across the lanes, students hyping each other up, and smiles all around as swimmers dove in and gave it their all.<\/p>\n<p>Everything ran smoothly, and it was clear everyone was there to have fun, support their team mates, and show off the hard work they\u2019ve been putting in at training. A massive thank\u2011you to our staff, volunteers, and competitors for making it such a vibrant and unforgettable day.<\/p>\n<p>And to top it all off, MLC School finished the carnival as Champion School in the overall point score! An incredible effort from every single swimmer \u2013 well done, team!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:cwong2@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au\"><em><strong>\u2013 Colman Wong<\/strong><\/em><\/a><br \/>\nHead of Swimming<\/p>\n<p><strong>ROWING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The MLC School Rowing team had an action\u2011packed weekend at the NSW Rowing Championships, taking on three full days of competition. While lightning brought racing to a halt on both Saturday and Sunday, resulting in the cancellation of all semi\u2011finals and finals, our crews made the most of every opportunity on the water. On Sunday, our Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 rowers competed across all events in the heats, demonstrating great performances and strong determination throughout the day.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>A standout moment came from our SG4x+, who achieved the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>second\u2011fastest time out of thirty Schoolgirl Quads\u00a0in the heats on Saturday<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We now enter an exciting stretch of the season with just\u00a0three weeks of training left\u00a0before the major event of the year:\u00a0Head of the River\u00a0at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. Before then, we\u2019re looking forward to racing at the\u00a0Roseville Regatta at Iron Cove this Saturday from 8am, our only local race of the season and a fantastic opportunity for families to come along and support the team close to home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:calmond@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au\"><em><strong>\u2013 Charlotte Almond<\/strong><\/em><\/a><br \/>\nHead of Rowing program<\/p>\n<p><strong>NSW ALL SCHOOLS TRIATHLON <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week we had three amazing athletes, <strong>Arielle McBrien<\/strong> (Year 7),<strong>\u00a0Emma Cook<\/strong> (Year 7) and <strong>Alannah Chan <\/strong>(Year 7) represent MLC School at the NSW All Schools Triathlon Championships held at the Sydney Olympic International Regatta Centre.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday 25 February, Year 7 student, Arielle McBrien proudly represented MLC School, delivering an impressive performance in the Individual Super Sprint Triathlon. Competing in the Junior division against a strong field of 80 athletes from Year 7 and Year 8, Arielle finished an outstanding 24th overall. Her strongest leg was the run, where she recorded the third fastest time in her age division \u2013 a remarkable achievement at this level of competition.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday 26 February saw our MLC School Triathlon Relay Team take the stage.
