{"id":43917,"date":"2026-02-20T14:08:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T03:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/mlc\/?post_type=article&#038;p=43917"},"modified":"2026-02-20T14:08:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T03:08:00","slug":"2026-student-residential-address-and-other-information-collection","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/mlc\/article\/2026-student-residential-address-and-other-information-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 Student residential address and other information collection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\"><strong>2026 Student residential address and other information collection (address collection)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The Australian Government Department of Education (the department) has requested that MLC School provides your child\u2019s residential address and other information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Under the Australian Education Regulations 2023<i>, <\/i>the School is required to provide the department with the following information about each student at the School:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li4\">names and residential addresses of the student\u2019s parent(s) and\/or guardian(s)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li4\">student residential address <b>(excluding student names) <\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"li4\">whether the student is a primary or secondary student (education level)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">whether the student is boarding or a day student (boarding status).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">MLC School collects the above information by generating a <b>unique and unidentifiable <\/b>student reference number (SRN) for each student record. The School only uses the SRN for this collection. <b>The SRN cannot be used for any other purpose<\/b>. The number only indicates to the department that each record provided is for one student.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><b>Purpose of the collection <\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The address collection informs Australian Government school education policy and helps ensure funding for non-government schools is based on need.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The information collected is used to inform school funding calculations. It is combined with Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data to calculate a non-government school community\u2019s anticipated capacity to contribute to schooling costs, known as the capacity to contribute (CTC) score. If there are no changes, you can verify this and proceed to find out the information you are seeking as usual. At this point you can also make updates and request changes.
