Offers, Admissions and Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As our Year 12 students undertake their exams or prepare for them, here\u2019s what happens next \u2013 and how the Futures and Pathways team will support you right through results and offers. <a href=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2025\/09\/Year-12-what-happens-next-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Please keep this on your fridge\/phone to refer back to<\/a>\u00a0and reach out any time if you\u2019re unsure about a step.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019re here for you!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ms Cilia will be available by email and for 1:1 meeting as usual during Term 4 and by email and Teams across results\/offer rounds. If you need some help with creating applications (UAC, EAS etc), please come and see Ms Massara. If you\u2019re feeling uncertain at any point, reach out early. There\u2019s almost always a good pathway forward.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To do now<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have not done so, create your UAC account and submit\/pay the standard ($215).<\/li>\n<li>You can change your preferences as many times as you like after you apply (no extra cost).<\/li>\n<li>If you need assistance creating your UAC account, please see Ms Massara or email <a href=\"mailto:nmassara@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au\">nmassara@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SCHOOLS RECOMMENDATION SCHEME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Schools Recommendation Scheme<\/strong> <strong>(SRS):<\/strong> an early-offer pathway based on your school\u2019s ratings and Year 11 results. Unlike other Early Entry schemes offered by many universities, SRS is through UAC. Key SRS dates this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Closing date to apply for SRS was 5 September<\/li>\n<li>Deadline to add SRS preferences in UAC to be considered for first SRS offers: <strong>Thursday 6 November 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>SRS offers released: <strong>Thursday 13 November 2025<\/strong> (more SRS offers on <strong>Thursday 27 November<\/strong> and <strong>Thursday 11 December 2025)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Not all institutions participate in SRS. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.edu.au\/future-applicants\/scholarships-and-schemes\/schools-recommendation-schemes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> for more details<\/li>\n<li>After the SRS rounds you can reorder your preferred courses\/institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATIONAL ACCESS SCHEME<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Educational Access Scheme (EAS):<\/strong> if circumstances beyond your control affected Year 11\/Year 12 learning, apply now. To see if you are eligible, read categories and required documents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.edu.au\/future-applicants\/scholarships-and-schemes\/educational-access-schemes\/categories-and-documents?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To be considered in December Round 2 <strong>(Tuesday 23 December 2025),<\/strong> submit EAS application and upload documents to UAC by <strong>Monday 18 November 2025.<\/strong> (This is done through your UAC application)<\/li>\n<li>Watch this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zDnC-L02Nzs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> for instructions on how to apply and what you need to download\/upload<\/li>\n<li>Please <em><u>email a copy of your application to Ms Cilia by <strong>Thursday 20 October<\/strong><\/u> <\/em>so the Educational Impact Statement can completed for you. Ms Cilia uploads the EIS directly to UAC and we do not return them to students.<strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;letter-spacing: 0px\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>RESULTS AND OFFERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>How UAC Offers Work<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is one offer per round: the highest preference you qualify for.<\/li>\n<li>Students can change preferences between rounds to target different courses.<\/li>\n<li>Early offers (Universities, SRS, portfolio schemes) can be accepted to secure a place; you can still compete for higher choices later through UAC<\/li>\n<li>Adjustment factors (subject\/EAS) can raise your selection rank; check institutions for details.<\/li>\n<li>Preference strategy: Aspire (stretch), Likely (realistic), Safe (near\u2011certain).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The December\u2013January timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thursday 18 December 2025:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>HSC results available from 6am (NESA) and ATARs released on UAC website from 9am.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>IBAS (IB Admissions Score) emailed to students from 10am<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Last chance to <strong>change preferences for December Round 2<\/strong>: by 11.59pm <strong>Thursday 18 December 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tuesday 23 December 2025:<\/strong> UAC December Round 2 offers released (7.30am). This is the <strong>main ATAR-based offer round<\/strong> for many NSW\/ACT universities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tuesday 30 December 2025:<\/strong> <strong>Change preferences deadline<\/strong> for January Round 1.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday 8 January 2026:<\/strong> <strong>UAC January Round 1 offers released<\/strong> (7.30am). Further rounds continue through February. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.edu.au\/current-applicants\/undergraduate-applications-and-offers\/institutions-in-offer-rounds\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Further information on offer rounds<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to use preferences smartly (December and January)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Before<strong> Thursday 18 December 2025,<\/strong> line up a realistic set of courses (include an &#8216;aspire&#8217;, &#8216;likely&#8217;, and &#8216;safe&#8217; option).<\/li>\n<li>After your ATAR releases (9am, <strong>Thursday 18 December 2025),<\/strong> re-order preferences appropriately before 11.59pm that night for December Round 2 offers. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.edu.au\/future-applicants\/how-to-apply-for-uni\/selecting-your-course-preferences\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guide to preferences<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>If you receive an offer on <strong>Tuesday 23 December 2025<\/strong> accept it, then \u2013 if you want to chase a different course \u2013 re-order preferences by <strong>Tuesday 30 December 2025<\/strong> for January Round 1. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.edu.au\/current-applicants\/undergraduate-applications-and-offers\/changing-preferences-after-you-receive-an-offer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Changing preferences after an offer<\/a>) You can decline offers you accept at a later stage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Aspire (1\u20132 choices):<\/strong> a stretch you\u2019d love.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Likely (2\u20133 choices):<\/strong> realistic based on ATAR\/selection rank (remember to check which adjustment factors you are eligible for to increase your selection rank)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Safe (1\u20132 choices):<\/strong> near-certain admission.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8216;I\u2019ve received an offer\u2014what should I do?&#8217;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accept any legitimate offer you receive (including early offers) to secure your place. You can still be considered for higher preferences in later rounds if you adjust your list. Do not enrol or pay deposits until you\u2019re confident with your final choice. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.edu.au\/media-centre\/news\/early-offers-explained?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Early offers explained<\/a><\/li>\n<li>You might receive one offer per round only \u2013 it\u2019s for the highest preference you qualify for. You can accept now and keep reshuffling preferences before the next round. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.edu.au\/future-applicants\/faqs-and-forms\/uni-offers?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FAQ&#8217;s about offers<\/a><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;letter-spacing: 0px\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ACCEPT Vs ENROL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ACCEPT = hold the place for now.<br \/>\n\u2022 No payment usually required immediately.<br \/>\n\u2022 Keeps options open for later rounds.<\/p>\n<p>ENROL = commit to that university\/course.<br \/>\n\u2022 Usually involves creating a student account and paying fees\/deposit.<br \/>\n\u2022 Do this when you are confident with your choice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overseas applications (UK\/USA) \u2014 quick recap<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re applying overseas, your applications should be well underway and you should have checked in with Ms Cilia several times. Key reminders:<\/p>\n<p><strong>UK (UCAS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure your Education section (IB qualification and subjects) is complete so your application can be assessed.<\/li>\n<li>Early applications (Oxford\/Cambridge; medicine\/dentistry\/vet) have a <strong>Wednesday 15 October 2025<\/strong> (6pm UK) deadline. Please finalise your parts by <strong>Monday 6 October 2025<\/strong> so we can submit school documents on time. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucas.com\/applying\/applying-to-university\/dates-and-deadlines-for-uni-applications?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCAS<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>USA (Common App)<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Typical Early Action\/Early Decision deadlines fall in early\u2013mid November (many on <strong>Saturday 1 November 2025).<\/strong> Several students have an earlier deadline of <strong>Wednesday 15 October.<\/strong> This needed to be finalised with Ms Cilia prior to holidays.<\/li>\n<li>Get teacher recommendations organised and complete the Reference Request so I can upload the counsellor reference and transcripts. If you studied elsewhere in Year 9 \u2013Year 12, send me those reports. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.commonapp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CommonApp)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong> \u2013 for other countries, follow appropriate applications processes and notify Ms Cilia ASAP if you require any supporting documentation<\/p>\n<p>There are many ways to reach your goal.
