It encourages critical thinking and logical organisation of ideas. These are valuable life skills, and for this reason, MLC School provides opportunities for students to participate in public speaking competitions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year, two Year 6 students were selected to compete in the IPSHA Speakers\u2019 Challenge. <strong>Zara Pandher<\/strong> and <strong>Remy Pereira<\/strong> travelled to Macarthur Anglican School and competed against 62 other students from across Sydney. <strong>Zoe<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Baker<\/strong> and <strong>Harlow Locke,<\/strong> from Year 5, also attended the competition to support the Year 6 girls and learn from the many highly accomplished speakers. While Remy and Zara were not successful in winning the competition, all the students commented on how valuable the day was in helping them learn new and vital skills that could be used in the future.
