From learning CPR technique to tackling complex water rescues, they developed vital lifesaving skills. Many also proudly achieved their Bronze Star Award, displaying their determination and practical capability.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>In theory lessons, students have explored the complex issues of racism, stereotypes, and social justice. Through the documentary <i>Freeman<\/i>\u00a0and a range of case studies, they examined the impact of racism on First Nation\u2019s individuals and communities-reflecting on Cathy Freeman\u2019s inspiring journey and her powerful role in promoting understanding and reconciliation through sport.<\/p>\n<p>Whether they were diving into the pool or into important conversations, our Year 10 students showed what they\u2019re made of: compassion, curiosity, and the courage to stand up and make a difference. \u00a0Wishing all our families a safe and happy holiday break.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:jferguson@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au\"><em><strong>\u2013 Jane Timor<\/strong><\/em><\/a><br \/>\nTeacher \u2013 Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This term, our amazing Year 10 students have embraced a diverse practical program in swimming and lifesaving.
