The theme for this year is <\/span><strong style=\"color: #292929;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;font-size: 1rem;letter-spacing: 0px\">\u2018<em>My Story\u2019<\/em><\/strong><em style=\"color: #292929;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;font-size: 1rem;letter-spacing: 0px\">.<\/em><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The following questions are prompts to assist with gathering ideas for your portrait:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How can you tell a person\u2019s story through a portrait?<\/li>\n<li>What is your subject\u2019s story about being Australian?<\/li>\n<li>Is your subject\u2019s story rooted in family, community, culture or nation, or something else altogether?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Entry Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open to all Junior School students \u2013 Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6<\/li>\n<li>The portrait must be of a person who is special to you \u2013 someone who is known to you, who knows you and plays a significant role in your life<\/li>\n<li>Entries can be in most artistic mediums (eg. painting, drawing, collage, textiles etc.) but must be two-dimensional (2D). No photographic or digital art please<\/li>\n<li>Entries should be created on quality A3 or A4 paper. You are welcome to request paper from the Art Studio<\/li>\n<li>Only one entry per student<\/li>\n<li>The artwork\u00a0<strong><u>must\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>be the student\u2019s own work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"btn btn--flat fullwidth btn--large\"><a class=\"btn btn-primary\" href=\"https:\/\/mlcschool.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-sfjuuy-l-r\/\">Please click here to download the entry form or collect one from the Art Studio<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Submissions close on <strong>Friday 1 November<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>2024.\u00a0<\/strong>Please give your artwork and entry form to your Visual Arts teacher on or before this date.<\/p>\n<p>All works entered will be displayed in the Junior School and receive a House point.<\/p>\n<p>Winning entries will be announced at Assembly on\u00a0<strong>Thursday 21 November 2024.<\/strong>\u00a0Winning artworks will be featured in\u00a0<strong><em>Audacia<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(the school newsletter), receive a prize and be entered into selected external art competitions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We invite all Junior School artists to submit a portrait for this year\u2019s Portrait Prize.
