MLC School has been part of the Round Square<\/em> community since 2004. Up until recently the focus for Round Square<\/em> was Senior School aged students. But they have been developing a suite of resources for Junior School students and we have had the opportunity to pilot these new resources \u2013 the RS Heroes of Discovery<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the past year we have been developing a leadership program for our Year 4 and Year 5 girls using some of the RS Heroes of Discovery<\/em>. We have looked at Self-Awareness, Courage, Responsibility, Teamwork, Communication and Problem Solving.<\/p>\n

Last week we had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Round Square<\/em> workshop in Oxford and visit some schools around London. We also presented our leadership program and gave feedback on piloting the resources. These resources will now be made available to the global Round Square<\/em> community.<\/p>\n

It was an amazing experience to meet other teachers from all over the world, from every continent, and listen to other schools who have also piloted the resources. Making connections with other schools will also add to our own MLC School students to continue to develop their awareness of the global community.<\/p>\n

We took letters some of our Year 5 girls wrote to a \u201cRound Square\u201d friend and we are looking forward to hearing back from students from France, America, South Africa and England.<\/p>\n

We look forward to more opportunities the Round Square<\/em> community provides and developing the Round Square<\/em> IDEALS in the Junior School.<\/p>\n
