Last week saw the <\/span>inaugural MLC School Hearts for Hearts charity drive raising money for Heart Kids Australia. <\/span>Heart Kids Australia is a fabulous charity <\/span>which works with childre<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0with congenital heart diseases and<\/span>\u00a0their families<\/span>\u00a0providing support, care<\/span>\u00a0and information.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Spreading love<\/span>\u00a0and happines<\/span>s <\/span>MLC School celebrated Valentine\u2019s Day with cheer and <\/span>a sense of joy. <\/span>Each m<\/span>orning saw smiles as students came pouring in the gates as everyone enjoyed <\/span>settling into Term 1 and the infusion of chocolate onto campus. <\/span>Over five days<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>we sold nearly 500 chocolates, and put together our positivity mural. T<\/span>he mural now on display in the Senior Centre is composed of hundreds of notes writ<\/span>ten by staff, students and even a few parents<\/span>. <\/span>The notes<\/span>\u00a0were messages of support, care, Taylor Swift song lyrics, <\/span>positivity and fun. <\/span>A sense of fun and happiness is infectious and that was seen ac<\/span>ross the School<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>as everyone got involved with leaving a message for a friend, themselves or for the community as a whole. We\u2019d like to thank everyone for their enthusiasm and in the wise words <\/span>of one of our favourite notes pinned to the board \u2018You are all amazing, unique and special. Have fun every day<\/span>\u00a0and don\u2019t let anything get in your way!\u2019.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span>A brief reminder that the International Women’s Day Breakfast is <\/span>on Wednesday 8 March 2023 at <\/strong><\/span><\/span>7am<\/span><\/strong>. The morning will consist of a panel of MLC School Captains, <\/span>Newington<\/span>\u00a0Prefects and a guest speaker around the 2023 theme of Embracing Equity<\/em><\/span>, our community\u2019s progress on achieving gender equity and what still needs to be done. A<\/span> light breakfast will be available and the event is open to all students and parents. <\/span>Please RSVP here<\/a>. We can\u2019t wait to see you all there!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
