They represented themselves in their design with lines, shapes, patterns, symbols and images meaningful to them while focusing on the theme of \u2018hearts\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Our Junior School artists began by creating their design using their choice of oil pastels. Then they painted over the top with watercolours, creating a beautiful background. This technique is called watercolour resist because the watercolours resist the oil-based pastels.<\/p>\n<p>The variety of designs and colours used by all girls in the Junior School has created a vivid and colourful collaborative artwork. This is a wonderful reflection of our school community \u2013 unique, vibrant and a delight to be a part of. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The message of our artwork, <em>Every Heart Needs Art<\/em>, highlights our collective love and appreciation for looking at and making art.
