All Speech and Drama Studio (SDS) programs are now well under way and there is a buzz of excitement in the air as the students are all thrilled to be back and flexing their creative muscle. Speech and Drama students are having fun learning improvisation and impromptu speaking skills this term. This body of work lays the foundation for performance, acting, characterisation and public speaking skills ahead.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Many of our students will be representing MLC School at the Inner West Eisteddfod in May.<\/p>\n
The Speech and Drama Studio is a proud supporter, sponsor and committee member of our local Eisteddfod and our students have competed for the past 26 years. Eisteddfods are a great opportunity for students to utilise the skills they are developing in class, increase confidence and most importantly to have fun performing. Students have commenced preparation of speeches, monologues, duologues, scenes, poems and prose readings. A number of our students in our Year 4 to Year 10 group Speech and Drama classes and Theatresports Club students \u00a0will be putting their amazing improv skills they are developing into practice in the IWE Improvisation Category.<\/p>\n
Some students will also be representing MLC School at the Ryde, Parramatta, Penrith and Sydney Eisteddfods.<\/p>\n
