These forms of communication will give you upcoming sports dates, the weekly fixtures, student achievements and other important information relating to carnivals, grading, etc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Important Procedures for Sport\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3>Absences from Sport<\/h3>\n<p><strong>What to Do When You Are Not Able to Make Training or a Game<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the rare occasions that it may be necessary for a player to miss training or a competition, please follow these instructions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If the inability to attend is known in advance \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0a written explanation (email) from the player\u2019s parent\/guardian is to be given to the coach and sports department in advance. This notice should be given as early as possible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If the player is absent from school on the day of training or on competition day \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0the player\u2019s parent\/guardian is asked to advise the coach and sports department of their child\u2019s absence from training or the game.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not ask your friends or team mates to give your coach the message<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Do give as much notice as possible<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>If there is a clash with another sport or school event, please speak with the Sports Department to determine which game\/event you should attend.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Please Note:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong>Continued failure to attend training or competitions without a timely written explanation is unacceptable and may jeopardise the player\u2019s continued involvement in sport.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A member of the Sports Department will contact parents\/guardians of students whose non-attendance at training or games is not notified in the correct manner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pockets are only awarded to students who have attended at least 80% of training and games.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h3>Wet Weather<\/h3>\n<p><strong>What do I do if it is Wet Weather?<br \/>\n<\/strong>While on most occasions we would not cancel training for\u00a0wet\u00a0weather, cancellations may occur if rain is too heavy to train in or weather conditions deem it unsafe. Additionally, due to safe distancing measures and government guidelines, we may be required to cancel training when we cannot accommodate students safely in an indoor space.<\/p>\n<h4>For morning training<\/h4>\n<p>The decision to cancel any morning training sessions will be made by 8pm the night before training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wet\u00a0weather\u00a0cancellations will be posted on the MLC School Sport Facebook Page, followed by an email.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>No Facebook post, or email means that activities will still go ahead.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>For after school training<\/h4>\n<p>The decision to cancel any after school training sessions will be made by 1pm on the day of training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wet\u00a0weather\u00a0cancellations will be posted on the MLC School Sport Facebook Page, followed by an email.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>On Saturdays<\/h4>\n<p>If you are playing an\u00a0<strong>IPSHA Sport<\/strong>, please\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blinkm.co\/IPSHA\/\">use this link<\/a>\u00a0to take you to the IPSHA Wet Weather site.<\/p>\n<p>Once on the site, select your venue and there will be a notification if your venue is closed. IPSHA normally make a decision by 7am.<\/p>\n<p>If you are playing an\u00a0<strong>IGSA Sport<\/strong>, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/igsasport.spawtz.com\/\">https:\/\/igsasport.spawtz.com\/<\/a>.\u00a0The IGSA website will let you know if your venue is closed or open.<\/p>\n<p>When possible, we will also post the cancellations on our Sport Facebook Page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On all occasions, it is the individuals\u2019 responsibility to check the wet weather information.
