Year 9 PASS Update
As a part of the current unit of work; Issues in Sport, Year 9 PASS (Physical Activity and Sports Studies) students have been learning about inclusivity in sport and physical activity by exploring variations of adaptive sports that increase accessibility.
Last week, students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a Wheelchair Rugby League practical incursion run by the NRL Wheelchair team. The session provided students with the chance to learn the rules of the game and actively participate, gaining insight into the sport and its challenges. Students learned essential skills, including manoeuvring the wheelchairs, passing, and tagging. The instructors emphasised the importance of teamwork, coordination, and adaptability – skills that are vital during the game and in everyday life.
The incursion was an incredible opportunity for Year 9 to learn something new and develop a deeper understanding of inclusivity in sport. All students participated with great effort and enjoyed the challenge!
