Year 9

Year 9

This week during Luminary time, Year 9 explored how to be upstanders online. Drawing on resources from the eSafety Commissioner, students reflected on practical ways to support others safely and respectfully online, such as checking in with someone, reporting harmful content, or reaching out for support. I encourage you to continue these conversations at home with your daughter.

Wade House Exodus Service Day

On Friday 13 June, students from Wade House travelled to Ashfield to volunteer at the Exodus Foundation Loaves and Fishes Free Restaurant, supported by Ashleigh Leck and Head of Senior School Joanna Graffen. The Exodus Foundation is a local charity that has been supporting the homeless and vulnerable for more than 30 years.  MLC School has partnered with the foundation to give Year 9 students the opportunity to volunteer at their famous Loaves and Fishes Free Restaurant. Thank you to the students from Wade House for volunteering their time to support those from our community in need.

2nd MLC School Colour Run

The MLC School Colour Run will be held on Friday 27 June 2025 at Burwood Park — it’s going to be a day bursting with colour, energy, and excitement.

All students should make sure they follow the steps to register before the big day:
1. Head online to schoolfunrun.com.au
2. Click on Student SIGN UP button to create your fundraising page
3. Share your unique link to friends and family so they can donate

The following will be in place for any student requiring adjustments to support their participation in the Colour Run.

  • A sheltered tent will be available for students needing a quiet, alternate space to take a break. This will be staffed by the Learning Enhancement Department.
  • A staff member from the Learning Enhancement Department will be actively visible throughout the event to support monitoring of students.
  • Students will also have access to the First Aid Tent if needed.
  • Students have the option to “opt-out” of running in the colour. If this is the case, students are encouraged to inform their Head of Year and identify an alternate form of participation in the event if at all possible.
