Year 9

Year 9

Year 9 have been ticking along nicely. Throughout the term, the year group have been focusing on building more positive relationships and connections in their own Luminary groups, between Luminary groups and across the entire cohort. This week saw the students involve themselves in a Luminary challenge singing the School Song. It was gorgeous to hear the Year 9 students singing so proudly on a Monday morning with the encouragement of some friendly competition.

The Middle Years Leaders have been busily preparing their yearly wrap up reports for the Excelsior Magazine, and I have really enjoyed watching their confidence and leadership skills develop and shine across the year. In a few weeks they will hand over to the new Middle Years Leaders, which is a very special and momentous occasion.

Year 9 have continued to involve themselves widely to the life of MLC School. I am looking forward to the Middle Years Production next week which will showcase the talents of many of the Year 9 cohort, front and back of stage. The number of students signed up to be Peer Support Leaders has been fantastic, and I know a few more are still yet to complete the form. And as always, when I ask for volunteers for Chapels and Tour Days, I am inundated with emails of offers to help. Keep it up Year 9!

I hope you have a lovely weekend, and please reach out to your child’s Luminary or myself if you need any assistance.
