Year 9

Year 9

It has been another busy week for Year 9, with final (formal) assessments being completed and presented, the first House time of the term, and all students having individual chats with their Luminaries about their achievements, accomplishments, challenges and hopes from Semester 2. Please know that although formal assessments have come to a close for Year 9, the learning continues! Teachers will have Stage 5 content to keep working with and this content is assessed formatively and ongoing throughout the year. You can refer to the newsletter article here by Linda Emms, Head of Learning and Teaching to explain this further.

On Wednesday in Academic Care, Year 9 had their first session run by Jo Cilia, Head of Futures and Pathways. Jo organised some people from the UTS entrepreneurs program to come and speak to Year 9 about what it means to be an entrepreneur and how to begin a pathway to entrepreneurship. It was wonderful to see Year 9 so engaged, with their eyes opening to the world around them and what potentially may lie ahead following Year 12. Year 9 will have another session with Jo Cilia later in the term, and will spend more time with her and her team as they move into the senior years.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, and please contact your child’s Luminary or me by email here if you need any assistance.
