Year 8
This week in Year 8 we had a large focus on being a safe and respectful digital citizen. The students were asked to read and sign their school diary cyber safety pledge and had a year group presentation with Marianna Carlino (Director of eLearning). Marianna spoke about ‘How to Survive The Social Media Delay’ and was insightful and informative. The Year 8’s should have come away with plenty of ideas for support and assistance. This focus leads us to Safer Internet Day which is next Tuesday 10 February. For more information, please see the e-safety commissioner website.
Next week, Year 8 will have an incursion with Prue Salter as a follow up to the Study Skills sessions held in Year 7. We are hoping to continue to prioritise organisation and preparation for assessments so this incursion will help to set Year 8 up for a successful year.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the Parent Welcome tonight and the Year 8 Parent Information night on Monday 6pm in Potts Hall.
