Year 8
Welcome back! I do hope you all enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating summer break with both families and friends. As we kick off the new year for Year 8 2025, I’m excited to reconnect with all our students and their families. This year promises to be one filled with new learning experiences, growth, and opportunities to recognise and celebrate the achievements of your daughters. I’m looking forward to continuing our partnership with you all to support your daughter’s academic and social emotional development.
This term, our Pastoral Care program will be focused on fostering an environment of respect for self and others as well as developing in students a growth mindset. Through engaging discussions and activities in their Luminary sessions, we’ll encourage students to embrace challenges, learn from their mistakes, and view every experience as an opportunity for personal growth. Students will continue to enjoy experiences with their Big Sisters, who are now in Year 12 as well as a range of activities with their Houses.
A few reminders for the start of the year:
- Students are to always keep their phones in their lockers across the school day. They cannot use their phones to purchase food from the canteen. Please ensure your daughters either have money/cash, a debit card or money on their student card through Flexischools for purchases.
- All of Year 8 have been asked to ensure their locker has a lock by the end of Week 2 and that is utilised to keep their belongings stored safely across the school day and overnight/weekends.
- Student jewellery must adhere to the uniform standards outlined in the School Diary. This week there were many necklaces and bracelets which did not align with this standard. Please ask your daughter to ensure their jewellery is removed before they leave home each morning.
We welcome several new staff to our Year 8 Luminary team this year. They have all been getting to know your daughters in Luminary sessions this week.
