Year 7
Year 7 have settled positively back into school and appear to be working productively in their lessons. It has been wonderful to see them supporting the Year 12 students completing their HSC and IB examinations by being respectfully quiet around the locker areas across the school day. This is to continue for the coming fortnight!
On Wednesday during Academic Care, students were provided the opportunity to continue work on their ‘Rubbish Project’ in their small groups. Students have been filming advertisements which promote the need for sustainability within MLC School. Some groups are now at the editing phase and some still require a little more footage to be pieced together prior to submitting the works next week.
During Luminary on Thursday, a uniform check was held across the Senior School. Thank you to those students who continually wear their uniform with pride and who follow the standard set for uniform beautifully. For those students who received an Accountability Point as there was an element of their uniform worn incorrectly, I encourage them to reflect on their choices and ensure expectations regarding uniform are met moving forward.
I want to thank all the Year 7 students who have volunteered their time over Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October to assist with the running of the IGSA Festival of Speech at MLC School. It is always heartening to see how many students are willing to give up their own time in support of events such as this. With 30 schools visiting our campuses and many students competing across the range of disciplines, student support is essential for the smooth running of the evening and day. For those students in Year 7 who are competing, I wish you the very best!
