Year 3 CLP – All living things are connected
Girls in Year 3B and Year 3G were scientists dissecting lilies in the Science Lab in the MLC School Senior Centre for their Term 2 Collaborative Learning Project. The project’s Big Idea was: ‘All living things are connected’.
‘Seeing the pollen explode was the best part of dissecting the lilies.’ – Daphne L’Estrange (Year 3B)
‘If we look at the outside of a lily, we don’t see much detail and the parts of a plant, but if we take our time and dissect it, we can see the parts more clearly.’ – Gaia Bigolin (Year 3G)
‘I got to touch pollen and the stamen.’ – Aerin Kim (Year 3B)
‘We got to see all the parts of the flower that we have never seen before.’ – Elina Yu (Year 3B)
‘On the outside of the flower, it doesn’t look like much, but on the inside, there is much more to it!’ – Zoe Zlamal (Year 3G)
‘We saw that the pollen was actually yellow because we squished the anther and the pollen fell on the paper.’ – Valentina Palazzolo (Year 3G)
