Year 12
This week as a school we celebrated Harmony Week, with a range of activities designed and coordinated by our captains. Students participated in Luminary activities, wore cultural dress or a splash or orange on Thursday and were treated to range of international cuisine and music across the week.
On Wednesday, Emily Wu, Community and Round Square Captain, Rhiti Bhatta Diversity Captain, Eri Takeshita, Environment Captain and Laila Chopra, Wellbeing Captain joined Ella Hu, Chapel Captain to help deliver this week’s Chapel Service, recognising both Harmony Week and International Women’s Day. The captains joined Rev Vinnie and Pastor Luisa exhibiting both leadership and honoured their roles as community centred captains for all students in Year 10 to Year 12. The beautiful orchestral music was again performed by our students in this week’s Chapel Band – thank you to Juah Hyun, Music Captain for another delightful musical performance.
As we approach the upcoming Year 12 Examination Block, we ask that all Year 12 students approach this fortnight with a strong sense of responsibility and focus. David Posker-Hill, Acting Director of Studies – Year 11 to Year 12 and Marianna Carlino Acting IB Coordinator, advised students of their responsibilities regarding the examinations, that students are expected to arrive punctually and as prepared as possible. They reminded the cohort that this is an important time to maintain routines, minimise distractions and use revision time purposefully. Level 3 will be available as a supervised space for students to work quietly and independently between examinations, and students are encouraged to make full use of this environment to support their preparation.
Over the coming weeks students in Year 12 will be participating in IGSA Swimming and Diving Championships (today), House Chapel Services (as listed below), Tildesley Shield Tennis, NSW Schoolgirl Head of the River, the Australian Rowing Championships, rehearsals for the Senior School Production and so much more… I’m so proud of you all and wish you all the very best!
