Year 12
Another busy week for Year 12 with final assessments for HSC Drama, Year meeting and Big Sister Little Sister during Luminary time.
The HSC Drama performance examinations took place this week and were a resounding success. The girls have been working incredibly hard on individual and group projects under the careful guidance of Kellie Cogin and Lisa Jinga (HoD Drama and DDE). The amount of time that goes into preparation for the external markers means that the girls are well supported and guided throughout the entire process from text to stage. We wish them all the best for their results.
In year meeting this week, Uma Singleton (Year 12) received the NSW School of Languages Long Tan Youth Leadership Award. Her award was presented by Candace Robertson, our new Head of Languages. Studying a language externally takes great patience, self-discipline and motivation, as shown by Uma’s achievement.
Big Sister Little Sister took place on Thursday, Year 12 2025’s last one. This tradition is special to MLC School and Year 8 and Year 12 students meet once a term to share experiences, food and discuss life at MLC School. Year 8 prepared lovely good luck cards for the girls and Year 12 provided the food. We had fairy bread, cookies and brownies to share.
Attendance and uniform are being consistently monitored throughout the last weeks of term. Attendance at chapel, assembly, luminary and especially, classes are compulsory. This time is crucial for Year 12 to home in on the consolidation of skills, content and feedback from teachers. If you have an academic concern, please contact your daughter’s subject teacher.
