Year 11

Year 11 students are ready for the end of year and have been busy planning celebrations such as the Luminary Christmas parties and the House Christmas challenge, which will be held on Monday. One of our images this week is of Whitley House and a great Christmas party organised by Joelene Cheney, the Luminary for Whitley. Other celebrations continue on Monday.

A beautiful day on Monday gave Year 11 the opportunity to participate in some great team building skills and games, organised by Booralee Luminary, Sarah Papachristoforou.

2023 has been a wonderful year and it has been a pleasure to lead Year 10 into Year 11 with the Luminary team to support the students through life in Year 10, subject selections, careers choices and learning to face the challenges with resilience and perspective. The girls have settled into a whole new routine with ease and are using sound problem-solving skills to navigate the new curriculum and expectations. We have welcomed many new students from other schools and countries to add unique perspectives and experiences and they have brought with them the opportunity for lifelong friendships.

The holidays are a time for Year 11 to catch up on their learning, pursue their passions and have time with family and friends. It is also a good time to reflect on the achievements of the year and plan goals for the next. The key essentials of wellbeing: nurturing positive emotions and connections, sleep, relaxation and being present in the moment are significant building blocks for positive growth next year.

Wednesday 6 December 2023 is the last day of school on campus, Speech night will be held on Thursday 7 December 2023 late afternoon/evening, so please follow the link for further information about this compulsory event. Students are not attending school during the day on Thursday.

It has been a pleasure working with all of our families in the Year 11 community and I and the team wish you all the best for a joyful, peaceful and relaxing Christmas and New Year break. Enjoy the summer and if you are travelling, please stay safe and we look forward to working with you all in 2024.
