Year 11
I could tell there was a strong sense of purpose about the Year group at the start of this week, as we begin what will be a busy and significant term for our cohort. In our first Year meeting for the term I reminded the students of the need to work in tandem with their teachers, reaching out for assistance throughout the term. This applies not only to their class teachers, but their Luminaries as well.
Below is a reminder of the brilliant team that help to guide the cohort, please feel to reach out to them if you have any concerns about your daughter or questions about what is happening at School:
Luminary Group | Luminary |
Abbeythorpe | Claire Johnson |
Booralee | Susan Rowley and Elisa Tagliabue |
Churunga | Elizabeth Gilberthorpe and Leon Vitogiannis |
Leawarra | Caitlin White and Megan Westwood |
Lester | Roseanne Thompson |
Mooramoora | Chris Highman and Paul Batten |
Prescott | Lisa Jinga and Tristan Coelho |
Sutton | Jake Morrissey |
Wade | Antonella Accurso and Debra Kidd |
Whitley | Monica Lee |
We were lucky to welcome Paul Dillon back to MLC School on Wednesday and he addressed Year 11 about Alcohol, Vaping and Cannabis. As ever, his talk was engaging and informative and provided the students with the information they need to make safe decisions for themselves and their friends. Feedback from the cohort has been very positive and I encourage parents to ask their daughters what their key takeaways were.
Finally, on Friday the Head of Senior School, Joanne Graffen, joined our Year meeting to launch the student leadership process. This is an incredibly exciting time for the students, and I hope that they feel positive about the opportunities available to them. I have no doubt that as a cohort, the Class of 2024 will collectively be stellar leaders of the School.
