Year 10
I had an enjoyable time at the New Zealand Immersion information evening. It is wonderful to see the joy on the students and parents faces looking forward to the experiences approaching for Year 10.
In the Academic Care session this week Christopher Highman, Assistant Head of Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) introduced Year 10 to their immersion project which is to evaluate the various ways Australia and New Zealand take care, present and manage their Indigenous culture. It is an important global and local area for our students so they can look ahead and work towards being Agents of Change. Christopher is also attending the New Zealand Immersion.
During Luminary this week students were reflecting on their growth over Semester 2. Not only does it include academic growth but also leadership, giving to the community, gains from co-curricular activities and our School Values that were a focus this semester, Compassion and Growth. We also had a sharpened focus on uniform yesterday Thursday 24 October, which may have resulted in Accountability Points and emails home for students.
After Immersion
Please see Academic Care’s newsletter piece regarding the Year 10 Enhancement Program after their return from Immersion in Week 6 (starting Monday 18 November 2024). The current timetables for Year 10 will cease at the end of Week 4 (Friday 8 November 2024).
