Students Baking and Crafting to help the Homeless
Students in the Friday lunch craft club in SCG06 run by the wonderful Year 10 students Allegra Chiang, Jane Xia, Jiayi Li and Eri Takeshita have been using their skills and kind hearts to help the homeless that attend the Early Bird café at St Stephen’s Uniting Church, Macquarie Street, Sydney. They decorated cupcakes that were greatly enjoyed by the patrons and the students will also be sewing and knitting items to donate. They will also be helping out each month on craft work for Days for Girls International (a global nonprofit working to eliminate the stigma and limitations associated with menstruation). As well as this some of my lovely Year 10 Religious Education Students, Clementine Hendriks, Hannah Shortus and Indiana Hodgkinson put their compassion into action by baking some delicious goodies and sewing boomerang bags for the homeless that attend the Early Bird café at St Stephen’s.
