SWIMMING CARNIVAL and TEAM SELECTION

The Senior School (Year 6 – Year 12) Swimming Time Trials will be held at the MLC School Aquatic Centre from 1pm to 3.15pm on Friday 7 February 2025.

Additionally, the 200m IM (Year 7 to Year 12 ONLY) will be held on Tuesday 11 February 2025 at 7am
200m Freestyle (Year 7 to Year 12 ONLY) will be held on Friday 14 February 2025 at 7am.

These trials are open to competent swimmers who would like to compete for the MLC School Age Championship trophies and be considered for our Primary (Year 6) and Secondary swim teams. This event is another trial for the MLC School Swimming Team and a compulsory event for the MLC School Representative Swimming Squad (Year 6-Year12 swimmers). Swimmers not currently members of the Representative Swimming Squad may be invited into the squad based on their performance at these trials. The Senior Representative Squad will also compete at the MLC School Invitational Carnival on the evening of Friday 14 February 2025. Results at these events will assist in the selection of the teams to compete in the IGSA Swimming Championships (Year 7 to Year 12) or the IPSHA Championships.
Points received at the trials will go towards Age Champion trophies, but not the House Championship trophy.

In order to get through all the races in the short time frame, please only enter if your daughter can competently swim the strokes over 50m. As a guide, competent swimmers should be faster than 45 seconds over 50 metres of freestyle (Year 6) and 40 seconds over 50 metres of freestyle (Secondary). Swimmers who have not reached this benchmark will have the opportunity to compete at the House Carnival.

  • What to bring:
    Swimming cap
    Goggles
    Swimming costume
    Towel

Please submit this form by Monday 3 February 2025.
