Important Announcements

As we approach the upcoming school holidays, the MLC School Sport Department is pleased to announce that a comprehensive Holiday Clinic Program will be offered during the break.

Clinics will operate across both Week 1 and Week 2 of the holidays and will include sessions in Tennis, Hockey, Netball, Basketball, and Diving. These clinics provide an excellent opportunity for students to further develop their skills, maintain fitness, and continue building confidence in a positive and supportive environment. Further information regarding specific dates, times, and costs is available via the Sport Registration pages released next week.

Term 2 sports trials are progressing well, with excellent participation across all sports. It’s great to see so many students signing up for Saturday sport in the coming term.

As we move past the midpoint of Term 1 competitions, it has been particularly pleasing to see positive improvements in training attendance and strong participation at weekend fixtures. This commitment reflects the growing pride students are taking in representing MLC School and contributing to their teams.

Today is a big day for our MLC School students competing at SOPAC in the IGSA Swimming and Diving Championships. We wish all participating students and coaches the very best of luck.

Our Rowing Crews are also in action this weekend at the Sydney International Regatta Centre for one of the biggest events of the year, Head of the River. We look forward to seeing the girls continue their strong performances.

With one of the biggest IGSA events of the year next week, Tildesley Tennis, taking place, we wish all our singles and doubles players the best of luck. On that note, we are also excited to welcome Adrian Montgomery to the MLC School Sports Team as our new Senior Sports Coordinator. With 24 years of tennis coaching experience, Adrian brings a deep passion for player development and a strong commitment to helping athletes grow both on and off the sports fields.

Over the past 7 years, Adrian has served as the Head Tennis Coach at Ravenswood School for Girls, where he also held broader leadership roles, including Snowsports Coordinator, and was a key organiser supporting major school carnivals and sporting events. He is a Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach, USPTA Elite Professional, and RPT Head Professional/Professional Tennis Director – qualifications that reflect his long-standing dedication to excellence in coaching and coach education.

Adrian’s coaching career has taken him from Sydney to Austria, where he ran his own coaching business, worked with clubs, and coached and travelled with State and National champions. He has also supported players competing in International Tennis Federation (ITF) events, Tennis Europe tournaments, US College tennis, and Junior Grand Slams.

His diverse background and passion for athlete development make Adrian an outstanding addition to our team, and we are extremely excited to have him on board. Adrian will be joining us on Monday 30 March 2026.

We look forward to a strong finish to the term, MLC on 3!
