Illuminate Festival – Save the Date!
The annual Illuminate Festival will be held on Thursday 15 July 2021 in Week 1 of Term 3. Illuminate was established in 2018 by the DART and Art & Design Society and was originally inspired by the Sydney Vivid festival. Each year the festival has grown and grown, it now celebrates student work and talent across multiple departments.
This year, the Illuminate Festival theme is ‘Into the Unknown’. After an unpredictable and whirlwind 2020, the Art & Design Society, wanted to celebrate the resilience of the MLC School community, not to mention the uncertainty and excitement that the future holds. The festival will feature art and design projects from Kindergarten to Year 12 displayed throughout the Senior Centre, multiple MLC School Dance and Music performances in the amphitheatre, plus student-run market stalls and food around the Bird Bath Quad. It wouldn’t be an Illuminate Festival without some lights, plus the highly anticipated Miniscape sculpture created using the generous toy donations from the MLC School community. It is a very exciting event in the school year, and MLC School warmly invites you to come and support; don’t forget to add it into your diary for Term 3!
